Camera tool in Excel

The Camera tool allows you to select a range of cells and literally insert a live picture into a spreadsheet. Any change to the range of cells will automatically update the image.

The Camera tool allows you to select a range of cells and literally insert a live picture into a spreadsheet.  Any change to the range of cells will automatically update the image.

In order to use the Camera tool, we must first add it to the Command Bar.  There is a well documented tutorial on adding items to the command bar already available on Excelbuddy.com.  Click Here to review that tutorial.

The method below will work on previous versions of Excel.

  1. Select View > Toolbars > Customize
  2. Select Command Tab, On the Customize dialog
  3. Scroll down to the Camera Icon
  4. Drag the Camera icon to your target toolbar

How to use the Camera Tool

  1. Start by selecting a range of cells.
  2. Next, click the Camera Icon.
  3. Click anywhere in the excel spreadsheet to paste the image. You can paste on multiple sheets.
